Clickasaurus is a game for Android and iOS. This page says what data the game handles, which companies receive any of it, why, and how you can say no. The short version: the game has no account and no server of its own. Your progress stays on your device and in the backup of your phone. On Android, if you sign in to Google Play Games, a copy of your progress also goes to your Play Games account as a cloud save. The cloud save is optional. The game can show ads and can send anonymous play statistics, and both need your consent.
Your game progress (level, gold, items, settings) and your answer to the play statistics question are saved on your device. The game does not send them to us. Your phone can copy them into its own backup: on Android, the backup of your Google account (Android Auto Backup); on iOS, the iCloud or computer backup of the device. Google or Apple keeps that copy in your account under its own terms, and we cannot read it. On Android, after the backup ran, your progress comes back when you install the game again with the same Google account, or set up a new phone from that account. On iOS, deleting the game and downloading it again does not bring your progress back. It comes back only when you restore your iPhone or iPad, or set up a new one, from its iCloud or computer backup. The backup does not move progress between Android and iOS. You can turn the backup off in the settings of your phone. If you delete the game and have no backup, your progress is lost.
On Android, the game can keep a cloud save of your progress in Google Play Games. The cloud save is optional. It needs a sign-in to Google Play Games. If your phone already has a Play Games profile, Google Play Games signs you in when the game starts. If not, the game asks you once, after the first boss of the game. You can also sign in later with the Cloud save row in the game settings. If you do not sign in, the game works as before, with the backup of your phone only.
When you are signed in, the game sends your game progress to Google Play Games Saved Games. The game progress is the save file and a short summary of it: your level, your stage and your opals. Google keeps the cloud save in your Play Games account under its own terms, and we cannot read it. Your answer to the play statistics question and your consent choices are not in the cloud save.
The cloud save also holds a short list of your purchases: a code made from each Google Play purchase, and the pack that you bought. The code does not hold your name or your payment details. The game uses the list when you choose between two saves, for example the save of an old phone and the save of a new phone. Then the game keeps the opals of every pack that you paid for.
The Google Play Games SDK also collects your Play Games identity (your gamer name and your avatar), and analytics and diagnostics data of the SDK itself. Google sends all of this data over HTTPS. Google describes this data on its page Play Games Services data collection.
You delete the cloud save with your Play Games profile or with your Google account. Google says: "Users can delete their account and all associated games data collected by Google through their Play Games profile or Google MyAccount." The section Delete your data tells you how.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the game shows the Google consent form before the first ad. You can decline. If you decline, the game shows only limited ads. Limited ads are not personalized: Google does not build a profile of you and does not use the advertising identifier. Google still processes some data to deliver the ad and to detect fraud: the IP address, the request details and a short-lived identifier kept on the device for fraud prevention. You can change this choice at any time in the game settings under Ad privacy.
In every country, the game asks once whether it can send play statistics. The answer is No until you say Yes. You can turn it off at any time in the game settings under Send stats. Turning it off deletes the random identifier that the statistics used.
| Service | Purpose | Data | When |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google User Messaging Platform | Shows the consent form and stores your choice | Your consent choice (stored on the device), the app identifier, the device language and the IP address, which Google uses to find your region | At each start on Android, before any ad |
| Google AdMob | Shows rewarded ads that you choose to watch | In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, with your consent: the advertising identifier and device data for personalized ads. Without consent there: limited ads, for which Google still uses the IP address, the request details and a fraud-prevention identifier on the device, but no profile and no advertising identifier. In other countries the game asks for non-personalized ads only: Google uses the IP address, the request details and the advertising identifier to limit how often an ad shows and to detect fraud, but builds no profile for ads. You can reset or delete the advertising identifier in the settings of your phone | After the consent form, and only after the first boss of the game, the game asks Google for an ad in advance for a button that it can offer (the return summary, the boosts, a chest, the pterosaur), so that the ad is ready when you tap. These requests send the data in this row even if you never watch an ad. An ad plays only when you tap its button |
| Google (time request to www.google.com) | Reads the real date, so that a device clock set forward cannot pay opals early. Opals from daily rewards and other time rewards wait until the game knows the real date | One HTTPS request with no game data and no identifier. Like every internet request, it shows the IP address of the device to Google. The game reads only the date of the answer | At each start and when you come back to the game, at most once in 5 minutes, on Android and iOS. Not in the browser version |
| Google Play Games Services (Android only) | Keeps the optional cloud save of your progress in your Play Games account | Your game progress (the save file and a summary with your level, stage and opals), the list of codes made from your purchases, and your Play Games identity (gamer name and avatar). The SDK also collects its own analytics and diagnostics data. See Cloud save with Google Play Games | Only after you sign in to Google Play Games. Then at each start, after a purchase, after a retirement, when you leave the game and every 5 minutes of play |
| Google Analytics for Firebase | Anonymous play statistics that help us balance the game | A random app instance identifier, the app version, the device model, the operating system version, the language, a coarse location derived from the IP address (the address itself is not stored), and these game events: session start, stage reached, retirement, purchase made, ad watched, a press of the button that leads to the opal packs, and the companion eggs (an egg found, an egg hatched with the companion and its rarity, an egg hatched early for opals, and a shiny companion found). The analytics library also records its own events: first launch (first_open), the start of a session (session_start), how long the game was in the foreground (user_engagement) and which game screen was open (screen_view), each with its time. No name, no email, no advertising identifier, and no precise location | Only after you answer Yes to the play statistics question |
Google processes this data under its own policies: policies.google.com/privacy and AdMob data use.
In-app purchases are handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store. The game receives only a receipt that says what you bought. It does not receive your name, your address or your payment details.
The game is for players aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe that a child has used the game and that data was collected, write to the contact address above and we will delete it.
Consent choices stay on your device until you change them or delete the game. Your answer to the play statistics question is also in the backup of your phone. The choice of the Google consent form is not in the backup, so a new phone can ask again. Google keeps analytics event data for 2 months and user-level data for 14 months, the Firebase default. The cloud save stays in your Play Games account until you delete it. We keep no other copy.
Clickasaurus by Ecki Labs holds no account, so there is no account to delete. The only data about you that we can delete is the anonymous play statistics (Firebase Analytics), and only if you said Yes to them. The optional cloud save is in your own Play Games account, and you delete it yourself (see below). To delete the play statistics:
What is deleted: all Firebase Analytics data tied to your app instance identifier, including game events, screen views, the coarse location derived from your IP address and the purchase event. What is kept: nothing by us. Your game progress and your consent choices are on your device and in the backup of your phone, and you delete them by deleting the game and the backup. The advertising identifier that Google AdMob uses belongs to your phone: you reset or delete it in the settings of your phone, and Google keeps AdMob data under its own policy. Google Play keeps the record of your purchases under its own terms.
The cloud save with Google Play Games: if you signed in, your game progress and the list of codes made from your purchases are also in your Play Games account. We cannot read or delete them. You delete them yourself in one of two ways:
Google says: "Users can delete their account and all associated games data collected by Google through their Play Games profile or Google MyAccount." If you play on after the deletion and you are still signed in, the game writes a new cloud save. To stop that, delete the Play Games profile or do not sign in.
You can withdraw consent in the game settings at any time. You can ask us what data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, at the contact address above, as the section Delete your data describes. Because the game holds no account, a request must name the random app instance identifier, which the game shows in the settings next to Send stats. Residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, California and other regions with privacy laws have the rights those laws give, including the right to complain to a supervisory authority.
When this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes, and the game shows the consent questions again if the change needs a new answer.
